Occupy SF march, rally and civil disobedience action shuts down Wells Fargo corporate HQ

Eleven Occupy SF protesters were arrested outside Wells Fargo’s corporate headquarters in downtown San Francisco on Wednesday morning, but police had no plans to arrest more as the demonstration continues, a police lieutenant said.

Dozens of demonstrators sat down during the morning and early afternoon in front of the building, located at 420 Montgomery St. between Sacramento and California streets. The protesters blocked the doors to the Wells Fargo building while others stood around. More demonstrators marched around the block. Continue reading

Bay Area Care Congress Short Video

On September 8, 2011, 700 San Francisco Grand Hyatt and Hyatt Regency workers joined thousands of Hyatt workers nationwide in launching week-long strikes.  Hyatt has singled itself out as the worst employer in the hotel industry.  Hyatt has abused its housekeepers, replacing career housekeepers with minimum wage temporary workers and imposing dangerous workloads on those housekeepers who remain. By striking, workers are demanding the right to help themselves and other Hyatt workers across the United States contend with an abusive employer, intent on destroying decent jobs.
