JwJ convened a coalition that won the landmark Retail Workers Bill of Rights in 2014, the first policy in the country requiring fair and predictable schedules and promoting full time employment, and job security for over 40,000 retail, restaurant and service workers in San Francisco.
In 2015, Jobs with Justice solidified this victory with the development of strong enforcement systems through a partnership of City departments and community groups that serve diverse worker populations in San Francisco. Our victory paved the way for many similar fair scheduling legislation victories across the United States and Canada; JwJ served as a key resource for many organizations in these fights.
